Shrewsbury is Shropshire’s historic county town. Home to stunning buildings and architecture, you’ll find some 660 listed buildings within the town including some rather interesting street names – Grope, Butcher and Fish to name a few.

Birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury is truly an inspirational town. For things to see and do don’t miss Shrewsbury Castle, Shrewsbury Abbey or the town’s colourful Quarry Park and Dingle.

If shopping is your thing, then Shrewsbury is the place for you. With its collection of independent shops you’ll be spoilt for choice.

For rest and relaxation, Shrewsbury’s café culture is just the thing with lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy a drink or a meal. The town’s delis and markets are worth a visit too.

Not forgetting Shrewsbury’s events and festivals. The West Mid Show is a real fun family day out and the Shrewsbury Summer Season offers a whole host of events and activities. In August the town really comes alive with the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show with blossoms and blooms on show everywhere.

Just out of town you’ll find Attingham Park and the ruins of Wroxeter Roman City. Both beautiful, very inspirational and only a stone’s throw from Shrewsbury’s very own vineyard.

To take in more of Shropshire, the list is endless. Don’t miss the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge complete with 10 hands on and interactive museums or the stunning Shropshire Hills. Good walking, good views and the perfect place for a picnic.

Much Wenlock, Ludlow and Ellesmere can all be easily reached but for real adventure, visit Hawkstone Park & Follies, an 18th century parkland complete with caves, intricate pathways and views of 12 counties!
